Monitor Windows services on a device with N-able N-central
You can monitor Windows services using N-central Windows Service. When monitoring is enabled, a new instance of Windows Service is created with the service name appended to the instance name.
For example, monitoring the DHCP Client service creates a new instance named "Windows Service - DHCP Client".
This feature is only available for managed Windows devices with N-able N-central agents installed.
- Go to Views > All Devices and click the Network Devices tab.
- Select the device Name.
- Go to Tools > Services.
- In the Monitored column, move the slider to On or Off to enable or disable monitoring.
- To monitor multiple services, tick the check boxes for the processes you want.
- Select Monitor with N-able N-central.
- Choose Turn On.
- Select Save.
Disabling monitoring removes all Windows Service instances from the target device.
Once enabled, the N-central Windows Service begins monitoring the selected service.
